Travis Lundell

About Me:

I am an Outdoor Recreation Planner for the National Park Service Midwest Regional Office. I primarily act as a project specialist for major planning projects. This includes document writing, workshop facilitation, and note taking. Currently I am working on a General Management Plan (GMP) for Pullman National Historic Park, a trail plan/GMP amendment for Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, a Comprehensive River Management Plan for Saint Croix National Scenic River and preliminary planning for North Country National Scenic Trail, and Voyageurs National Park.

I recently graduated from Arizona State University from the Master of Urban and Environmental Planning program. My studies primarily focused on environmental planning but also brought in many aspects of justice and equity. A highlight of my time at ASU were research and internship experiences with time spent researching green infrastructure, and working in a city government planning department, and helping develop the county park’s strategic plan development. I was also active in the Student Planning Association and I held a position on the executive board as the Professional Representative and External Liaison.

Through my work experience and course work I have gained experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and R Studio. I am currently interested in exploring the uses of data analysis in planning and how GIS and R programming can be integrated for better analysis.
